This is the third in a new DVD occasional series featuring trains in action from the National Network as well as on Heritage Lines in Britain.

The programme begins with a day visit to Cardiff Central Station to view the everyday train types and traffic to be seen. A wide variety of DMU types are featured including endangered class 142s. Freight traffic is also seen with DB Cargo and Freightliner class 66s as well as Colas class 70s.

Our second section covers the busy freight and passenger line between Ely and March and on towards Peterborough. Class 170 and new class 755 multiple units dominate on passenger workings whilst Class 66s haul a host of Container and stone workings.

The third section sees us visit the Gloucestershire-Warwickshire Railway for a ride behind 26043. For those who remember the class at work in Scotland this is a superb throwback to times gone by - plenty of thrash and nostalgia!

We remain in Gloucestershire as we head to Standish Junction near Stroud as we view a number of recent special trains and unusual workings. LNER HSTs, Steam in the form of Duchess of Sutherland and freight trains are all witnessed.

A trip to the Settle and Carlisle line with the ‘Staycation’ Express featuring 37 667 and 47 712. A Network Rail HST, Colas class 70s, DB Cargo and GBRf class 66s are also seen on freight services.

We finish the programme with GWR 7029 tackling the climb towards Sapperton.
