SWITZERLAND - the second part of a feature looking at the route between Winterthur and Sankt Gallen. A rural mainline with an interesting mix of motive power where passenger services dominate. This feature concentrates on the line between Wil and Gossau (near St.Gallen).

GERMANY - we begin a three-part look at the busy line between Minden and the junction at Wunstorf near Hannover. Passenger and freight services abound with old and more modern motive power in evidence. Classes 101, 140, 145, 151, 155, 185, 186, 225, 423, 424, 425, 445, 401 and 402 all appear.

FRANCE - we call in at a regional line near to Valenciennes in northern France at Le Quesnoy.

ITALY - the first of two visits to the main lines to the north-east of Genoa which pass through local mountains. Classes 652, 444, 402B, 652 ETR485 are all seen in action.

SWITZERLAND - a look at current-day operations on the metre-gauge Rhätische Bahn with loco-hauled workings dominating. This is prior to the mass introduction of new multiple-unit trains that will have an impact on current loco-hauled services during 2021.

FRANCE - a visit to the busy Rhône Valley line to the south of Orange in the southern part of the country. Freight and regional passenger services dominate the views that we see. Classes TGV, z24500, B84600, E4000, BB22200, BB7200, BB26000 and BB27000 all appear.
