(HD Blu-Ray) American Railroad: Vol 38 - Galesburg - a BNSF Railroad hot-spot
Description
Run-time: 1 hour and 38 mins approx.
Our American Railroad series continues its journey across Illinois as we call in to the strategic and busy railroad hub that is Galesburg. Three busy rail lines converge on the City making it a popular train-watching location. Our programme samples a number of positions beginning at the Amtrak Depot before moving north to Peck Park - next to the busy Transcon route - before returning to the City’s rail depot for evening and early morning action. Included are scenes taken in the downtown area before we head west and to the small town of Cameron, around which there are connecting lines from the transcon to the Burlington route as they head east and west. We conclude with a return to the centre of Galesburg as we briefly study the action to the north of the main BNSF Railroad Yard. The programme features locomotives belonging to other operators such as Union Pacific, Amtrak, Norfolk Southern, Canadian National, Ferromex and of course Burlington Northern Santa Fe. Numerous traffic types are seen, from a string of bare-tables, to coal, intermodal, container, mixed manifest, sand, ethanol and Amtrak passenger turns. Railways have been the heart of this City since arriving in the mid-1800s: today over 100 trains pound the polished steel rails as they make their way east to Chicago, west to Kansas, south to St. Louis and north to St.Paul and places beyond. Join Lineside Video Productions as we visit one of the busiest railroad locations in the State outside of Chicago.
