Lausanne East: Scenes of trains high above Lake Geneve with class Re4/4 and 460 dominating. Class 560 and 568 units also appear on stopping services with some wonderful background scenery.
A journey beside the Montreux-Oberland Bernois narrow gauge line with classes 4000, 6000 and 8000 providing the dominant motive power. More great scenery and old electrics, including class 4000 units now withdrawn from traffic.
Othmarsingen: Part 1 of a look at the busy mainline east of Aarau where it joins the main Gotthard route. We have plenty of loco-hauled and local passenger train workings as well as freight including some operated by the now withdrawn class Ae 6/6 electric locomotives.
The RhB: a look at this wonderful narrow-gauge network between Bever and Bergün. Four types of locos are seen on passenger duties, including Gem 4/4 as they work trains along from St.Moritz and onwards to Chur.
Othmarsingen: the second part of our visit comes from the town’s station itself. With a busy four-track mainline on show the action comes thick and fast. Motive power include: TGV, DB class 185, SBB 482, Re4/4, Ae 6/6. Re6/6, class 450, 460, 500, 560 and 841. Local passenger, Intercity, Eurocity, empty stock, container, intermodal and mixed freight are all witnessed.
Berninabahn: we visit the line to capture the last months of the class Abe 4/4 and Abe 4/4 II electric railcars which were soon to be ousted by new electric multiple units. Filmed in fantastic mountain scenery we also include a pair of heritage yellow-liveried Abe 4/4 railcars winding their way through the wilderness.
