SWITZERLAND - a trip to the Appenzellerbahn line that runs in the hills to the west of Altstätten in the north-east of the country, now part of the Appenzellerbahnen group of railways. Narrow-gauge trainsets feature amongst the spectacular mountain scenery that borders the lie to the south. Filmed in October 2024.

BELGIUM - we call in to a small town station to the east of Antwerpen to sample the traffic on offer over a period of just 70 minutes. Freight and passenger trains appear.

GERMANY - our final visit to central Germany and to the busy cross-country line between Bebra and Fulda. Diverted as well as scheduled ICE traffic and the usual endless flow of freight make this line well worth a visit.

SLOVENIA - a study of freight and passenger traffic on the line south of Ljubljana as the line climbs up into the hills around Borovnica. Classes 342,363 193 and 541 locos all appear as well as electric multiple units on this busy line.

AUSTRIA - the first of two visits to the Pyhrnbahn route linking Wels with Selzthal and beyond. This line sees plenty of loco-hauled action as well as a regular amount of freight traffic as well as electric units working stopping services north of Kirchdorf. Class 1142, 1144, DB185 and, 1116 locos all appear.

SPAIN - various train-types are witnessed in action amidst the superb scenery that exists in south-eastern Spain. Diesel and electric locos - both old and new - appear on a number of workings on the line that links Madrid with Valencia.
