Following on from American Railroad: Volume 41 we continue our journey through mainly Ohio (we cover just a few miles inside of Indiana) calling in at junctions and hot-spots as we head east on our video trip through the State.

Our journey begins in Indiana at Waterloo where the NS Chicago line continues east and onwards towards Toledo and further afield. This line sees anything upwards of 70 trains each day and gets examples of locomotives from all of America’s Class 1 Railroads. Trains follow each other in an endless procession as we capture a wide variety of motive power on manifests, ethanol, container and cement workings. We head east to Baxter and Stryker as we close in on Toledo where we paid a quick visit to the NS route south of the City.

Our next hot-spot was the junction at Bellevue situated close to one of the biggest yards on the Norfolk Southern network. Manifest trains are almost continuous here with non stop action again featuring locomotives from a host of railroads including NS, UP and BNSF.

Next we head for the diamonds at Greenwich deep inside CSX territory as autoracks, manifest and double-stacks ply their way across the State.

A visit to the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway’s yard at Brewster found a pair of heritage GP35-3s leading a westbound local - a great catch!.

Our final location is Alliance on the Norfolk Southern route south of Cleveland towards Pittsburgh. This is another busy main line which sees near constant activity. We never had to wait long to see our variety of power, leading stacks, ethanol and manifests.
