PORTUGAL: We look back to 2001 & 2002 to witness classes 1400, 1500, 1550, 1900 & the popular class 1800 at work. Scenes include inside Barreiro works & views from the cab of a class 1800 at speeds of up to 110 kph.
FRANCE: The south of France is a popular holiday destination, we call in at Marseillan Plage near Agde in August 2004, to see what operates on the main line between Montpellier and Narbonne. Local passenger, intercity and freight are seen including classes 7200, 9300, 9600, TGVs, 22200, 26000 & 6500.
ITALY: We call in to Orbetello station on the coastal line north of Rome. Classes 444 & 646 feature.
LATVIA: Russian 2TE10 & 2M62 diesels feature as we view traffic near Jelgarve. We also visit the narrow-gauge line between Aluksne & Gulbene with class TU2 in action.
GERMANY: We look at activity at Ruhland in the eastern part of Germany, with class 120 (M62), 143, 155, 145, 185 & 298, & night-time action from Friesenheim on the route to Basel, with ICE, 110, 111, 139, 140, 151, 152, 482 & 485.
SWITZERLAND: Passenger and freight activity from around Limmettal Yard near Zurich. Ae 6/6, Re 4/4, ICE, class 450 and 460 are seen in this April 2004 material.
AUSTRIA: A fascinating look at the changing motive power scene as we visit Niklasdorf on the main line to Villach. Using 2001 & 2004 material we see, classes 1010, 1040, 1141, 1142, 1016, 1116, 1044, 4020 and 4030.
