FRANCE: A profile of the BB26000 electric locomotives at work around the country.
SLOVAKIA: We take a look at two diesel operated lines to the north and east of Zvolen. A wide variety of diesel units and locomotives are seen on passenger and freight duties.
AUSTRIA: The ?Westbahn? is the country?s busiest main line corridor. The results of a 75-minute stopover to the east of St.Polten reveals a wide range of electric locomotives on a variety of duties. The sequences were filmed in the late evening and under the station lights revealing a spectacular display of unusual visual effects.
HUNGARY: A view of mainline electric services in the south-west corner of the Lake Balaton area. Also included are M62 diesels on construction trains, a cab-ride in a class M41 and a look at the narrow-gauge line out of Balaton-feneyves.
GERMANY: The junction town of Großkorbetha is situated to the south of Halle and to the west of Leipzig in a major industrial region. Freight and passenger traffic is both busy and varied as we study activity on a weekday evening in June 2004. East German diesel and electric locomotives dominate the scene interspersed with the latest DB traction.
SWITZERLAND: The first in a two-part video survey of the metre-gauge ?Rhätische Bahn?. In this first section we follow the line from Schiers to Filisur passing through the resort towns of Klosters and Davos on the way.
ITALY: A brief look at passenger and freight activity on the private ACT Reggio Emilia line including a pre-series German class 216 diesel in action.
