Portugal - Ermesinde, just to the north of Porto. This mainline location features, suburban passenger, freight, rural and inter-city workings. Filmed in July 2007, class 1400 & 1960 diesels are seen at work as well as 1970s-built diesel multiple units, Class 5600 electrics & Class 3400 multiple units as well as a modern Pendolino tilting high-speed train.
France - St.Germain-des-Fossés, just north of Vichy, is situated on a series of lines linking Clermont-Ferrand, Bourges and Lyon. We study both diesel and electric traction at work from 2003 and 2006, including the powerful CC72000 diesels.
Hungary - a look at one of the threatened narrow-gauge lines in July 2006, featuring a classic rural line unchanged for decades. Mk48s provide the power.
Germany - The Emmelshausen branch out of Boppard features class 218 diesels: we paid a visit in July 2006.
Austria - the Westbahn, including a look at the line under construction, is visited close Linz. This is the busiest mainline railway in Austria as we feature: classes 1044, 1144, 1142, 1016, 1116, 101, 151, 182 & 2067;
Germany - a look back to rail operations in 2003 as we call at Tamm, just to the north of Stuttgart.
France - our lineside interlude takes us to Creutzwald and activity on the private HBL.
Belgium - A study of the route along the Meuse Valley between Liege and Namur. A variety of SNCB electric multiple units from Am73 to Am96 appear, as well as class 23 and 26 electrics on freight.
Switzerland - a look back at Re 4/4 electric no: 11141 in action before a ride on the Gotthard during Winter snow!
