France: A visit to the country's busiest freight yard at Woippy near Metz. We look back over the last four years and feature now withdrawn BB12000 'monocabine' electrics as well as current day BB63000, BB64700, BB15000, BB16500, BB22200, BB26000 and BB25100 on a mixture of passenger and freight at this fascinating location.

Germany: Schirnding on the line to Cheb in the Czech Republic is a surprisingly busy location. We spent a Sunday afternoon there in June 2002 the highlight of which was CD class 781 578 double-heading a coal train with DB's 232 623.

Italy: Cantu-Cerminate is situated on the line from Como to Milan. Class 402, 444, 464, 633, 646 and 656 all appear during our morning rush-hour stopover.

Switzerland: A visit to the metre-gauge Brünig line. The tracks run through some spectacular mountain and lake scenery as we follow the route from Interlaken to Sarnen via Meiringen. Class 101 locomotives and 110 railcars dominate, but also featured is the incredible sight of a green class 120 pulling standard gauge freight vehicles loaded on to special transporter wagons.

Luxembourg: Bettembourg is a railway hotspot close to the country's busiest freight yard. We witness French BB16500 and BB15000 locomotives on passenger and freight as well as Dispolok hire locos of class ME26 and CFL?s own 1800 diesels, 3000 and 3600 electrics.

Austria: A visit to St.Johan im Pongau on the line from Saltzburg to Villach as we see new and old at work amidst the mountain scenery. Classes 1010, 1016, 1042, 1044, 1116, 1141 and 1142 are all filmed in action.

France: The CC72000 diesels are big engines, we look and hear these magnificent locomotives at work on freight and passenger on the line from Paris to Troyes. BB67500 and DMUs are also covered around the town of Longueville during June 2002.
