(Standard DVD) Out of the Archive: Class 50
A video survey of all fifty of the BR class 50 locomotives in operation. Filmed in the 1980s and 1990s.
This programme takes a look back at the popular class 50s hard at work on the Western Region of British Rail throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. Their impressive large-logo livery and the heavy beat of their 2700hp English electric 16CSVT engine made them popular with enthusiasts. We take a step back in time to review the heyday of the class from the Cornish mainline to Network Southeast's commuter trains, to Speedlink freight and heavy holiday expresses to the Westcountry.
