SWITZERLAND - a visit to the busy Olten to Solothurn main line viewed from around the station at Olten-Hammer. There’s plenty of freight and passenger activity during our 2018 summer-evening visit.

BELGIUM - the first of a two-part feature on the main line between Namur and Liège. AM66 and AM78 star as the ‘oldies’ working local trains along this picturesque route. We also see locos in action with Class 186, 21, 27, 77, plus AM66 and AM08 EMUs.

FRANCE - a look at rail operations from spots in the north and south of the country. First we visit the line south of Dunkerque for some evening train-watching with TGV, new multiple units and locomotive-hauled freights in view. We are then off to the north of Toulouse where BB75400, B81500, z7300, TGV, BB26000 and BB7200 are witnessed on a variety of workings alongside the Bordeaux-Toulouse canal at Pompignan.

GERMANY - the second and conclusive part featuring the main line that runs between Würzburg and Ansbach. Classes ICE, 1016, 1116, 193, 182, 189, 187, 185, 186, 151, 425, 426, 440, 442, 114, 151, 218, 294, 120 and 101 are all seen in action on this very busy stretch of railway.

CZECH REPUBLIC - Mainline action from Parduvice. Classes 123, 130, 151, 162, 361, 380, 386, 1216, 186, 814 all appear, with plenty of passenger and freight train workings in a variety of colourful liveries.

BLAST FROM THE PAST - an SNCF class CC72000 diesel at work in 2001.
