FRANCE - we have a two-parter in this programme looking at the main line to the northwest of Strasbourg. Part 1 covers the route between Hochfelden and Steinbourg not far from Saverne. This popular photographic line is visited by us in 2019 and again in 2022. A wide variety of traffic types are seen, including classes 186,4185, E4000, BB22200, BB27000, BB26000, BB37000, SNCB 13, TGV, x76500, B83500 and ex Paris Region BB27300s.

AUSTRIA - a journey to Himberg around 19 kilometres south of Vienna. Class 4124 and 476 units are seen on local passenger duties, whilst classes 1116 and Hungarian Class 480 are on expresses. Freight duties see class 1116, 185, and 193 on a variety of workings.

CZECH REPUBLIC - a visit to Prague’s main station made in September 2022. Classes 193, 752, 751, 383, 151 362, 742, 111, 471, 380, 163, 162, 386, 363 and 681 all appear. Passenger traffic is constant and with around 95% loco-hauled it is a really great place to visit.

SLOVENIA - action from Rakek where we study an evening’s train watching action in between a glass of beer and a Pizza - at a restaurant close to the tracks. Motive power brings, Classes 312, 541, 363, 193, 510, 664 and OBB 1293. Filmed on a Sunday night with up to eight trains seen per hour.

FRANCE - part 2 of our look at traction to the north and south of Strasbourg. Plenty of freight, local passenger and TGV services are seen in this busy railway area.
