GERMANY - we we begin our German Steam Fest with a trip to Berlin and the Heritage Museum at Schöneweide with 01 2066 and 01 1519 moving around the yard. We are then off to Dresden’s main station to look at some of the modern-day action, including Classes 101, 143, 411, 151, 112, 146 and 193.
FRANCE - a journey down the Rhône River Valley looking at the East Bank line between Lyon and Valence. A whole host of passenger and freight services are seen - with many of these identified - in this fascinating and busy railway corridor. Classes BB66400, BB67200, BB7200, BB22200, BB26000, BB27000, BB37000, G1206, G2000, B81500, z23400, z24500, ECR 66 and 186 are all seen at a number locations along the route.
BELGIUM - a visit is made to the small provincial town of Nivelles, where our one-hour stopover resulted in numerous passenger trains with AM75, Am78, AM08 and class 18 all seen.
SLOVENIA - the second visit to the main line south of Ljubljana where we begin at Rakek before heading to the junction station at Pivka. This extremely bust passenger and freight line sees, Classes 363, 342, 541, 312, 510 and 346 going about their business. with up to eight trains seen per hour.
GERMANY - more steam locomotives observed this time at the Dresden Steam Museum as part of the 14th Dresden Steam Festival. A night-shoot outside the roundhouse is followed the next day by steam to the west of the city featuring class 50 and 58: we conclude with scenes back at the main station.
