Filmed between 2014 and 2017 we study one of the busiest freight routes in the Czech Republic from Ostrá to Nymburk and down to Kolin and Záboří on Line 72 and European Freight Corridor Number 9. We also pay a visit to Prague-Libeň - a major Hot-Spot in the eastern suburbs of the capital.
A wide variety of motive power is witnessed including classes: EP09, 1216, 121, 122, 123, 130, 151, 162, 163, 186, 193, 361, 362, 363, 380, 386, 471, 480, 660, 681, 730, 740, 741, 742, 753, 809, 810, 814 and 854. Freight and passenger services dominate both locations with a constant stream of train consists and locomotive types from State and Private Operators. Old and new traction is seen at various lineside and station locations.
The programme begins with a look along Route 72 at Ostrá before heading east along the double-track main line through the junction town of Nymburk then south to Kolin, one of the busiest locations in the country. We continue our journey east finishing at Záboří nad Labem.
The second part of the programme visits the capital city, Prague, where we sample the mainline through Prague-Libeň. This is a popular destination for observers and photographers alike, being a short train ride out from the city Centre.
