(HD Blu-Ray) Line by Line: Germany - Magdeburg to Hanover 2015
Description
Run-time 1 hour and 52 mins approx.
This is the first in a new series featuring rail routes in Germany. This programme looks at one of the oldest mainlines in the country - the line from Magdeburg through Braunschweig to the outskirts of Hanover.
Filmed in 2014 and 2015 the very latest in modern motive power is seen along with some of the more heritage types of traction currently deployed on the network. DB locomotives make up the majority of services seen but there is also a good mix of private-operator locos on the many freight services witnessed.
The programme looks at the line from the trackside and from the many local stations along the route and provides for a fascinating record of train-types working both passenger and freight services on this major railway corridor that links; The Ruhr, Bremen and Hamburg with Eastern Germany and onwards into the Czech Republic.
Motive power witnessed in the programme includes members of DB classes 101, 111, 112, 114, 120, 139, 140, 143, 145, 146, 151, 152, 155, 156, 185, 189, 261, 291, 294, 628, 401 and 411.
