SWITZERLAND - the first in a two-part feature looking at the northern Gotthard route between Hendschiken and Rotkreuz. This busy cross-country route plays host to modern electric multiple units as well as loco-hauled freight trains: we witness classes Rae 4/8, 511, 521, 523, 560, 465, 185, 186, 193, 620, 420, 185, 923 and 603 at work.
ITALY - mainline steam action from northern Italy on the mountain line linking Trento with Bassaso. 740 293 - a 2-8-0 freight locomotive - is followed on its journey south. Aln501 units are also seen in action on this picturesque line.
CZECHIA AND SLOVAKIA - we follow cameraman Richard Scott on an Interrail Pass around these two countries witnessing a wide variety of motive power at a number of stations across each country. Classes 240, 750, 754, 714, 736, 371, 162, 350, 110 and 560 are all seen at work.
BELGIUM - rush-hour action south-east of Brussels at Mont-Saint-Guibert on the line to Namur. AM08 units dominate proceedings, as well as AM96, and locomotives from class 18 and 27 all make an appearance on this busy line.
GERMANY - the third in a four-part series looking at the main trunk route to the south-west of Hanover and onwards to the Rhur Valley. In this section we study trains between Stadthagen and Haste. A wide variety of passenger and freight services are seen. Classes 101, 110, 111, 120, 145, 146, 147, 152, 185, 186, 189, 193, 386, 424, 425, 446, 402, 403, 1214, 628 and 264 all appear
