GERMANY - the second part of our feature looking at the main line between Coswig and Riesa on the Dresden to Leipzig route. In this section we study a variety of train workings bringing a wide mixture of locomotive and train types, including Classes 112, 140, 146, 151, 152, 185, 186, 187, 193, 233, 285, 372, 386, 411, 442 and 861 which all appear on this busy and fascinating rail line.
ITALY - we travel to the south-west of Milan to study the train types to be found on the classic old mainline between Milan and Bologna. Our location is just outside the village of San Martina in Strada near to Lodi. A good selection of freight and passenger working are seen on this, still very busy, main line.
SWITZERLAND - a look back on our travels alongside the Montreax Oberland Bernois, the Transports Publics Fribourgeois to the SBB line at Romont. Narrow-gauge traction as well as standard gauge units appear on a variety of services. We also view some of the older rolling stock to be seen at Bulle.
BULGARIA - we follow Richard Scott on an Inter-rail journey where diesel classes dominate including runs behind classes 007 and 055.
FRANCE - classic loco-hauled workings south of Paris. Classes G1208, BB27000, BB26000, BB7200 and BB37000 are all seen in action, with many workings currently being replaced by new multiple units.
TAIL-LAMP - a class 185-operated freight near Braunschwieg in Germany.
