(Standard DVD) Line by Line - Germany: Northeim to Hannover 2019
Description
Run-time: 1 h and 50 mins approx.
The Hannovarian Southern Railway (located south of Hannover) is one of the busiest north-south DB trunk routes in Germany: it’s seemingly constant stream of freight and passenger trains makes it a line well worth a look at by the observer or European Railway enthusiast. This programme aims to give the viewer a comprehensive snapshot of the traffic types to be seen as well as different locomotive-classes drawn from the national fleet, or those belonging or hired out to the many private operators that use the line.
Filmed between 2017 and 2019 the programme starts to the south of Northeim where the High-speed line parallels the old classic route; from their the camera takes us north through to Kreiensen, Alfeld, Elze, Nordstemmen before we reach the southern suburbs of Hannover.
A wide variety of locomotive and train types are seen including: classes 101, 120, 145, 146, 151, 152, 182, 185, 186, 187, 189, 193, 203, 223, 232, 277, 386, 401, 403, 424, 425, 482, 622 and 648. Automotive, container, fuel and mixed freight dominate the route as well as local and regional Metronom and DB-operated passenger trains. Plenty of trains, plenty of locations and plenty to watch!
